This is a one day course. The didactic portion will focus primarily on the placement of a dental implants. This didactic portion will also cover briefly immediate placement, immediate load, grafting techniques and complications.
The second half of the day will consist of a hands-on lab where students will practice their surgical skills. This portion of the day will include a lab on flap design and suturing technique as well as a lab that will allow you to place implants on resin models. We will guide you throughout the process.
Following the lab our course will transfer to the in house surgical suite where Doctors will have the opportunity to view an implant surgery taking place on a live patient. During this surgery our instructors will be teaching and answering questions for the Doctors enrolled in this course.
This course is suited for dentists who have never placed an implant or need more confidence to place more. This will give you the knowledge of treatment planning and case selection so that you may seek the ideal candidates. For those of you taking this course prior to the live surgery course, this will give you the necessary guidelines you will apply in that course.
Whether you have been practicing for 30 years or 3 months it is never the wrong time to learn.
